Napoli are reportedly determined to start a new era from next season onwards. According to 'Rai Sport', Antonio Conte is to take the reins of the Italian club, whose season has been very irregular and who are in danger of missing out on Europe.
The Italian, who has already managed Atalanta, Juventus and Inter, among others, has accepted the proposal made to him by president Aurelio De Laurentiis, with whom he has reached an agreement. The same media outlet reports that he has been offered a three-year contract, as well as the power of decision in the next transfer window.
The last club Conte managed was Tottenham, who he left on 26 March 2023 following Champions League and FA Cup eliminations. His spell at the London club was 16 months.
Following his departure from Spurs, the Lecce native has been on the sidelines until he was recently linked with Napoli. The 2022/23 Serie A champions want to get back to winning ways and have already chosen the man to lead them to their destination.
De Laurentiis has prioritised Antonio Conte ahead of Vincenzo Italiano (Fiorentina), Gian Piero Gasperini (Atalanta) and Stefano Pioli (Milan).
