Cristiano Ronaldo leads Portugal squad list for Euro 2024

Cristiano Ronaldo will continue to add to one of the most impressive records of his career by playing in his sixth European Championship. On Tuesday, Roberto Martinez released Portugal's squad list for Germany 2024, which unsurprisingly includes the captain.
The Al Nassr striker heads a list of 26 players that also includes regulars such as Rui Patricio, Joao Cancelo, Ruben Dias, Danilo Pereira, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, Joao Felix... and of course, Pepe. At 41 years of age, the centre-back is still a permanent fixture at Porto and has won yet another major tournament with the 'Quinas'.
Among the new additions to the squad is Francisco Conceicao, a Porto winger who has scored eight goals and provided six assists this season. At 21 years of age, he made his debut for the national team on 26 March and is among those called up by Roberto Martinez, who is also introducing youngsters such as Antonio Silva, Goncalo Inacio and Joao Neves.
However, the Portuguese press questioned the coach for several important absences such as Pedro Goncalves, Francisco Trincao and Ricardo Horta. Regarding the Sporting Braga captain, the coach said he had "other specialist players" for what his national team needs, although he stressed that he had "a dream season".
Before the European Championship, Portugal have three friendlies scheduled. They face Finland on 4 June, Croatia on 8 June and finish their pre-tournament preparations against Ireland on 11 June. After that, they have just a week to go before kicking off against the Czech Republic in Group F, where they are also drawn with Turkey and Georgia.
