Marc Cucurella spoke about Erling Haaland's controversial statements after the Premier League match between Chelsea and City. The Spain international performed a song that went viral on social media about him and Erling Haaland during the European Championship title celebrations. "Cucu Cucu-rella, he eats paella, Cucu Cucu-rella he drinks Estrella, Haaland you’d better tremble because Cucurella is coming," the song goes.
As a result, the Norwegian poked fun in his way at Marc Cucurella after scoring in a Premier League match between Chelsea and Manchester City.
"In the end in England, they took it a bit out of context and I don't think he was aware of it either. He read what they were saying and took it a bit personally. Nowadays, people take things very personally, but then they had some awards and my mate Palmer asked him about me and that was it. It was just an anecdote," Cucurella told reporters.
"I'm very happy and I think that if someone sings a song with his name it's because he's a top player, they wouldn't name a player who wasn't known. Everyone is happy because he scored and I'm still just as happy to win Euro 2024. I would do it again, these things happen."
