Alphonso Davies is waiting for Real Madrid to arrive with an offer. The Canadian has illusions of joining the Spanish giants as their new left-back, and is therefore reportedly putting off negotiating his renewal with Bayern Munich while he waits for Madrid.
According to 'Bild', despite having a contract with the German champions until 2025, he plans to reject any proposition from Bayern while he waits for 'Los Merengues'.
However, time is not on the 22-year-old's side. Real Madrid, according to 'Marca', could wait until the summer of 2024 to try to incorporate the winger at a lower price than they would have to pay this year.
At the moment, the Copa del Rey champions have the position covered with Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia, the latter recently arrived from Rayo Vallecano. This means that signing Davies is by no means a priority for the Spaniards.
Bring the Canadian onside would mean a leap in quality to the position, but Real Madrid feel there are other more necessary acquisitions needed this summer, particularly up front.
