The Premier League is the richest and most powerful league in the world. Many are the powers capable of spending millions and millions of euros to sign players. A clear example in the current season is Chelsea, with more than 300 million spent in the winter transfer window alone.
Other big teams are Manchester City and Manchester United, who are able to bring in the best players. Now, 'L'Equipe' also revealed the Premier League salaries and made it clear who is the highest earner in the competition. The first two belong to the Cityzen squad.
Kevin de Bruyne is the highest paid player with more than 500,000 euros a week. In second place is Erling Haaland, with around 456,000 euros a week. The striker is the key player in Pep Guardiola's project, but not yet the highest paid.
The Norwegian has scored 42 goals in 37 games so far this season. Haaland arrived last summer from Borussia Dortmund and his adaptation has been impressive. He has a contract until 2027, but there is talk of a possible clause in 2024 to leave for Real Madrid.
David De Gea, who is in third position, has the same salary as the Nordic player. The Spanish goalkeeper is under contract until this summer and must renew his contract if he does not want to be a free agent in June. Next in the ranking is Mohamed Salah, already a Liverpool legend.
With more than 420,000 euros a week, the Egyptian is the highest paid player in the Reds' squad and fourth in the Premier League overall. His renewal until 2025 gave him a generous pay rise. England's Jadon Sancho is on a similar salary.
