Good news for Barcelona and Hansi Flick. After the weekend's win over Girona, the Catalan side have seen Frenkie de Jong return to training with the squad on Monday after five months out injured.
The Dutch midfielder only completed part of the training session with the rest of his teammates. It should be remembered that he is still recovering from a sprained ankle in his right leg suffered in the last game against Real Madrid, which caused him to miss Euro 2024 with the Netherlands.
De Jong aimed to return to training after the international break, so it looks like he is sticking to his plans. Even so, it is still too early for him to be included in the squad for next weekend's Champions League and La Liga games.
Frenkie de Jong's partial return comes at an excellent time, as the midfield has suffered again after the injury to Dani Olmo and the continued absence of Fermin Lopez.
