Matthijs de Ligt is on his way to the Premier League. The Dutch centre-back will leave Bayern Munich to join Manchester United, following an agreement between the two clubs.
'The Athletic' announced the news of the deal between Bayern and Manchester United. The Red Devils will pay the Bavarians 45 million euros, plus five million euros in variable fees, for the defender.
De Ligt is one of the players who impressed at Ajax in 2019. Juventus were ahead of all the teams in Europe who wanted him, but he did not perform at a level that matched the expectations generated.
Subsequently, he signed for another big European club like Bayern, but he could not establish himself at the Allianz Arena. He will arrive in his third major league after Serie A and the Bundesliga.
The Dutch centre-back is due to undergo a medical with the English side in the next few days before signing a five-year contract, with an option for a further season.
It will not be the only move at Manchester United, as the same source also claims that West Ham are set to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka for 15 million euros.
