Roberto De Zerbi did not hold back in his criticism for Mason Greenwood following Marseille's 3-0 defeat against PSG on Sunday. The Englishman was substituted off just after 45 minutes of play.
Asked on his decision, De Zerbi said: "Because I didn’t like the way he played. If we want to compete for the title we have to push in all matches. He’s a good guy but I expected a lot more from him this evening.”
"He has to continue training like he is doing. Mason Greenwood is a serious boy, we are all satisfied with him as a player and as a person, for his behaviour. He has enormous room for improvement," the former Brighton coach added.
Marseille's task to overcome their fierce rivals was certainly not made easier by Amine Harit, who was shown a red card 20 minutes into the 'Classique'. Mason Greenwood counts 7 G/A in 9 matches for Marseille after moving from Man United.
