Dele Alli did not have a good season at Besiktas. The English striker arrived at the Turkish club with the aim of boosting his career, but had a number of extra-sporting problems that prevented him from having the playing time he would have liked.
As if that were not enough, the player himself announced that he had to undergo surgery for an injury and confirmed that he will not play again for the rest of the season. In that sense, his time with the Istanbul team has come to an end.
"Surgery done, all successful and okay. Thank you to everyone of you who has sent me messages of support. Unfortunately, this means my season has come to an end," began the Englishman, who is due to return to Everton from July 1st.
In the same vein he added: "I want to take the time to say a big thank you to you Besiktas supporters for all the love that you have showed me whilst being at the club. It’s been a tough few weeks and I want to ensure I’m doing everything I can to focus fully on my recovery.
"I’m gonna take a break from socials, hit my recovery hard, and come at full strength. I will be back when I’m ready. See you all soon," he concluded.
