The French striker's future in La Liga is uncertain. Barcelona boss Xavi Hernandez confirmed on Tuesday that Ousmane Dembele is poised to leave the Spanish giants after receiving an offer from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to 'Sport', the Catalan giants offered to renew his current contract but both parties were unable to reach an agreement.
The same media outlet reports that his agent Moussa Sissoko demanded more than €100 million for the 26-year-old to extend his contract for five more seasons, i.e. until 2028.
Sources close to the Spanish outlet reported that this offer offended the board. "He offered unbearable sums. If any of his teammates were to see them...," they claimed.
Barcelona are disappointed with Dembele as they feel he has been ungrateful. Both the club and coach Xavi are hurt by the striker's decision.
