Barcelona are negotiating Ousmane Dembele's contract renewal, and while that's been happening, his release clause has dropped. From June 1st, the defender costs 50 million euros rather than the 100 million he'd have brought up til now.

Ousmane Dembele is under contract with Barcelona until June 2024. The footballer is one of Xavi's non-negotiables and the club is already in discussion with the player to extend his contract.
The club knows that the winger wants to stay, which is good news, but they also know they can't take their foot off the gas. And, from June 1st, his fee has dropped. As 'Mundo Deportivo' reports, the French international has gone from costing 100 million euros to 50 million, exactly half.
The last time Dembele was negotiating with Barca, he agreed to the drop in the fee between June and July, so that he could be sure of a possible out, if things weren't going as well as he hoped. From those 50 million, 25 would go to the club and the other 25 would be for his agent, Mousa Sissoko.
Despite the drop in the fee, those in the Camp Nou offices remain calm. The footballer is happy in Xavi's squad and is not planning to leave.
PSG, meanwhile, are dreaming of bringing him on. He's one of their targets for 2023-24, but barring any dramatic turns of event, it doesn't look like they stand much of a chance. Barca have reportedly made him an offer to renew until 2027 and is waiting on the winger's repsonse, who seems perfectly happy that he's where he wants to be.
