Did Messi and Mbappe get sour with each other?
There are suspicions tat Leo Messi and Kylian Mbappe rubbed it in to the other one when it came to celebrating their goals in the World Cup final. The Argentine appeared to look into his PSG teammate's face with a clenched fist when celebrating one of his goals, just as the renchman did another time. In any event, if there was sourness, they made up with a hug at the end of the match.

Football is a passionate sport, and rivalries, gesticulations and unpleasant comments on the pitch go with that. That is why it is not strange to see two players seemingly get on each other's nerves of the pitch and for everything to stop there. That is potentially what happened between Leo Messi and Kyalian Mbappe, who went head to head in the World Cup final. There were three moments which allow a closer look into it.
Firstly, after scoring one of the Albiceleste's goals, you could see Messi with a fist clenched in happiness while it appeared that he was looking at his PSG teammate's face. Then, when celebrating one of the three goals that he scored himself, Mbappe apparently did the same, which has meant social media has exploded with speculations that they had their ups and downs when they were vying for glory.
Despite it not being 100% clear whether this is what happened, what is certain is that if there was sourness between the two, there was clear reconciliation. After the game, while celebrating and giving out the trophies, Lionel Scaloni's captain went up to Deschamps' star and gave him a big hug to console him after the defeat, which is the same as what the South American manager did.
Unfortunately for Mbappe, neither his opponents' praises, nor the fact that the French President Emmanuel Macron came up to console him worked to change his mood. He posed as the Golden Boot winner with an understandably serious expression. Despite getting a hat-trick, and scoring in the shoot-out, his side did not manage to beat Argentina, who fell to Messi's.
