Roma's Artem Dovbyk spoke to 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' and, among other things, explained why he rejected Atletico's proposal. He said that at the Spanish club there were people who wanted him and people who didn't, while at the Stadio Olimpico they always showed 100% interest in him.

Artem Dovbyk left Girona and embarked on a new adventure at Roma a few days ago. "I decided after talking to Dan Friedkin. He made me feel important. I also spoke to De Rossi and Ghisolfi," he told 'La Gazzetta dello Sport'.
The forward told why his arrival at Atletico Madrid was thwarted. "It wasn't because the relationship we had with the club wasn't the best. I didn't feel confident, unlike at Roma," he said.
"There were people who wanted me at the club and others who didn't," he added. That lack of consensus, according to the Ukrainian, made him decide to try his luck at Roma, who showed him from minute one that he was going to be key.
Dovbyk's objective for the 2024/25 season will be to return the team to the Champions League: "We have to return at all costs. I have the number of goals I want to score in my head, but I'm not going to say," he claimed.
