Newcastle host Liverpool on Wednesday at St James Park in the 14th Premier League matchday of the season in a big test in which the Magpies will be looking to get back to winning ways in the domestic championship after losing and drawing their last two matches against West Ham and Crystal Palace respectively.
The bad news for the home side is that, apart from Liverpool's form, Aleksander Isak may be unavailable after being substituted against the Eagles in the first half after picking up a hip injury.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe confirmed that Dan Burn will be fit to face the Reds and that he hopes the Swedish striker's injury is not long-term, although he has yet to see him train.
"Alex [Isak] took a knock to his hip; we haven’t seen him in training yet, but we don’t think it a long-term injury. Dan [Burn] got through the game well, when he got suspended, we used that as an opportunity to look after his ankle and get himself fit. He was outstanding against Crystal Palace, and he came through the game okay," he told reporters.
