England squad features no Man Utd players for the first time since 1976

Kobbie Mainoo withdrew from the England national team on Monday due injury concerns, and will therefore sit out the upcoming round of international games. His departure from the England camp has left the Three Lions with no Manchester United player in their squad.
As a result, interim manager Lee Carsley will lead the national team during the upcoming Nations League fixtures against Greece and Finland without any Man United footballer available to him. According to the 'Daily Mail', this is the first time the England squad features no Man United player since 1976.
The Red Devils have regularly been represented in England squads but following Mainoo withdrawal, their remarkable run of 48 years comes to an end. The Englishman has reportedly been struggling with fitness concerns since the match against Tottenham.
Man United's Harry Maguire, Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount and Luke Shaw were all ruled out of the squad, leaving the 19-year-old to be the only player to represent the Red Devils at the England camp before his injury. Maguire was in contention, but also ended up suffering an injury as he limped off the pitch against Aston Villa on Sunday.
Meanwhile Rashford and Mount have not been under consideration from since Southgate's exit, with the former Chelsea man's last feaure for the Three Lions dating back to 2022. Elsewhere, left-back Shaw is also waiting to make an appearance under Carsley after starting in the Euro 2024 final against Spain in the summer.
