Chelsea's season has been a dreadful one. The Blues are likely to be out of Europe next season as they have failed to make the grade in the Premier League, sitting in ninth place on 47 points, 13 points off the European places.
Mauricio Pochettino's side has been built on millions of euros but the squad has not lived up to expectations. Enzo Fernandez has been one of the players who has not performed as well as he could due to a groin injury that has prevented him from playing normally for several months.
According to reports in England, the Argentinian midfielder will undergo surgery on Thursday to fix his problems and will be sidelined for three to four weeks, meaning he will miss the remainder of the campaign.
Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni is already aware of the surgery on one of the undisputed players in his squad. If nothing goes wrong, Fernandez should be 100 per cent fit for the start of this summer's Copa America.
