Eriksen wins Comeback of the Year at Laureus
Manchester United midfielder and Danish international wins Comeback of the Year at Laureus Awards after cardiac arrest at Euros in June 2021.

Christian Eriksen, 31, was awarded the Comeback of the Year at the Laureus Awards in Paris on Monday night. Described as "a much respected and admired footballer" by Laureus, Eriksen has over 120 caps for Denamrk, most recently playing in the FIFA World Cup in December, and has started over 30 games at United this season.
The award comes after he suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch during a Euro 2020 match against Finland and was resuscitated on the pitch. He was later fitted with an implantable defibrillator and returned to football in January 2022, when he was playing for Brentford.
The Argentinian men's football team won World Team of the Year, which included Man Utd defender Lisandro Martinez and of course PSG striker Messi">Leo Messi, who also took home the individual award for World Sportsman of the Year.
Other notable winners included track star Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, 35, winning World Sportswoman of the Year, the oldest sprinter to become world champion and tennis' youngest ever men's world No.1, Carlos Alcaraz winning Breakthrough of the Year. At 19 years, 4 months and 6 days he was also the first teenager to top the men's rankings in the Open Era.
