Andoni Iraola needed a striker intending to make up for the 19 his team was losing with the departure of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham. And the Spanish coach now has him.
Evanilson joins Bournemouth from Porto for 37 million euros, which means that the Cherries already have the vacancy covered and 27 million euros of profit since Spurs paid 64 million euros for Solanke.
The 2021/22 season, his second at Do Dragao, was the campaign of his scoring explosion. He netted 21 goals in 46 games and, although he dropped to 10 goals in the following season, in his final campaign he reached a more than plausible 25 goals in 42 games.
At the age of 24, the Brazilian forward leaves Portugal after four seasons with Porto. He arrived in 2020 from Fluminense, in whose first team he made just 26 appearances between 2017/18 and 2019/20. However, he did score ten goals, so his eye for goal has already caught the eye.
