N'Golo Kante performed well for France at Euro 2024 despite his side's painful semi-final exit at the hands of Spain. The 33-year-old surprised fans and football professionals alike as he was not expected to perform so well after joining Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad.
The Saudi league is known - wrongly or not - for having a lower level compared to the other leagues where Kante has played. However, the French midfielder has won several suitors in recent weeks.
So much so that he has been tempted to return to the Premier League, where he played for seven seasons with Chelsea. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, West Ham have contacted the Saudi club about the player's situation.
Kante's inner circle reportedly met with the Hammers and the Al-Ittihad board to discuss his future but nothing is clear at the moment. The player's current club are reluctant to let him leave and he is believed to be happy in Saudi Arabia.
The Frenchman is well-liked by new manager Julen Lopetegui. However, they would not offer more than 20 million pounds for his transfer.
