The first leaks about Atletico Madrid's interest in David Hancko surfaced around a month ago. However, it seems that there is a ten million euro barrier between what the Spanish side have allegedly offered and what Feyenoord want to give the go-ahead for his departure.
According to Dutch media ‘1908.nl’, Atletico's first offer was around 25 million euros. Nonetheless, the Dutch side asked for 35 million euros for his transfer and, since then, they have been waiting for a reply from Enrique Cerezo's board.
The Slovakian is contracted until 30 June 2028, so his owners have the upper hand in managing a situation in which he is comfortable. Preparations for the new season will see him working with Brian Priske, Arne Slot's replacement.
In Madrid, he would have to take over from Simeone, who has not shown much conviction in including recent signings in his line-ups, at least not with too much space.
