Argentina continue to lead the FiFA rankings following the update on Thursday, which saw no changes in the first ten places of the classification, as France and Spain conclude the podium position.
The updated table takes into account the 184 matches played between international sides in September across the six confederations. Fixtures included Asian, South American and Oceania 2026 World Cup qualifiers, UEFA Nations League and friendlies games, CAF and CONCACAF games. The UEFA matches counted for the majority of the 184 disputed.
Despite their latest defeat to Colombia (2-1) Argentian have their noses in front. France's loss against Italy (1-3) almost put their second spot in jeopardy, however, their victory against Belgium (2-0) in the following game worked to edge Spain, who are only 15 points behind.
England's back-to-back wins against Republic of Ireland (0-2) and Finland (0-2), puts them in fourth place, with the gap to the podium places reduced to 20 points.
