One of Manchester United's great hopes and biggest signings in recent years has been the arrival of Leny Yoro. The Red Devils managed to agree a deal for the former Lille centre-back, who was also close to joining Real Madrid.
However, the young French defender could not have had a worse start to his new life at the Mancunian club. After making his debut for the Red Devils in a pre-season friendly against Rangers, the 18-year-old centre-back was forced off injured in Ten Hag's friendly defeat to Arsenal.
Days later, the Old Trafford outfit confirmed that the player was due to undergo surgery on his foot and would be out for around three months. The Mancunian club confirmed on Monday 5 August that he had undergone successful surgery and a few days later Erik ten Hag has spoken about Yoro.
"Well, a fire is burning. As I say, for his age, he is already very mature and very balanced. I’m sure he will be returning as soon as possible to help the team. He’s already started his rehabilitation," said the Dutch coach.
