Florian Wirtz has started the 2024/2025 season just as though the previous one never ended. After having secured his first ever Bundesliga title with Bayer Leverkusen last season, the German sensation has kicked off his first Champions League campaign with a bang.
Wirtz opened the scoreline with a great finish from outside of the box, giving Bayer the lead against Feyenoord within four minutes of the game, followed by a second goal just half an hour later to put his side three goals up.
With his brace, the striker has become Germany's only player to score two goals on his debut in the Champions League. Many more records are to be broken if the 21-year-old keeps the keeps it up.
