David Raya was Arsenal's hero as the Gunners drew their Champions League opener against Atalanta. The Spanish goalkeeper saved the London side with an incredible double save to keep out the Italian side's penalty goal.
The former Brentford goalkeeper did brilliantly to guess the right way for Retegui's penalty and then somehow managed to get across the goalline to claw the Italy forward's rebound header off the line. After the match, the Spain international said that he didn't know if it was the best save of his life, but that it was in the top three for sure.
"This save was just incredible. Maybe not the best one of my career but for sure in the top three", said Arsenal's penalty hero. In addition, Gunners coach Mikel Arteta praised Raya's saves, labelling as one of the best he has seen in his career.
"I witnessed probably two of the best saves I’ve seen in my career", said the Spanish coach, whose team face a crucial Premier League clash against Manchester City on Sunday.
