Former Arsenal and England midfielder Jack Wilshere is on the verge of becoming Norwich City manager. According to Fabrizio Romano, Wilshere has agreed to join the Championship side and the deal is just a matter of time now.
Wilshere has been coaching at the Arsenal academy, managing the under-18s since he announced his retirement from professional football two years ago. However, the fomer Gunner is now set to replace Narcis Pelach, who recently became Stoke City's new boss.
At just 32 years old, Wilshere is ready to level up his managerial experience and join Norwich to help them get back to the Premier League after their relegation in the 2021/2022 season.
Reports from 'Mundo Deportivo' claim that the Englishman has a solid relationship with Norwich’s sporting director, Ben Knapper, which made the process much smoother. The pair spent time together at Arsenal when Knapper worked as the club's loans manager.
Norwich are currently seventh in the Championship, just outside the play-offs area. That said, the Canaries are on a hot-streak at the moment as they have been unbeated in their last four matches. Their latest fixture in the league saw them thrashing Hull City 4-0 at home.
