The most bizarre story of the last year has happened in Romania. An investigation is underway into whether Edgar Ie, who signed for Dinamo Bucharest in February, is the same footballer who is playing or whether it is his twin brother Edelino who is doing so.

It's a movie story, a script that could have been written by Howard Hawks himself. It is the story of a player who signed for a football team but in the end it was his twin brother who travelled and played. We are talking about Edgar Ie, who was in Barcelona's youth academy, signed for Dinamo Bucharest in February but never played.
It was the journalist Daniel Sendre who made public the story that is currently being investigated in Romania and that has Edgar Ie and his twin Edelino Ie as protagonists.
The story broke when Sendre informed Dinamo Bucharest that Edgar Ie, or rather the footballer he was, did not speak English well, despite having played in countries such as Spain, France and the Netherlands. He only spoke Portuguese.
"It seems unrealistic. I wondered if I was still sleeping. I started making phone calls, talking to friends and the news is true, I can't believe it. Nobody denied it. I found out that I had a twin brother who also plays football," confessed Florin Prunea, former Dinamo president.
After that, Dinamo Bucharest asked him for his driving licence to give him a sponsor's car, which he refused. He also does not have a scar on his right knee, which Edgar Ie would have.
All this leads to the suspicion that Edgar Ie is not the one who has played the 5 matches, but his twin brother Edelino. If this scam is confirmed, the team would lose at least the 8 points it has earned in the matches played.
