It appears that Bayern Munich will have to continue their search for a new coach for next season after Thomas Tuchel announced midway through the season that he would be leaving the German club once the season was over.
After the Bundesliga giants were held to a draw by Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final at the Allianz Arena, another blow was dealt to the Bavarian club's board when they learned of the decision of their main favourite to replace Tuchel.
Austria and former Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick has turned down Bayern Munich's offer, but the German coach has made it clear that it is not a rejection because of the club itself, but because of common "objectives" with Austria.
"I'm the Austrian team coach with all my heart. This is not a rejection of Bayern, but rather a decision for my team and our common goals," said the former Red Devils manager.
