Portuguese La Liga side Arouca announced on Monday the transfer of Spanish striker Cristo Gonzalez to Qatar's Al Sadd, where he will be reunited with his former Portuguese team-mate Rafa Mujica.
In a statement, the home club thanked 'all the commitment and dedication' of the 26-year-old 'on and off the pitch' during his time at the club.
They also noted that the Canaries striker's 15 goals in the last edition of the Portuguese League made him the second highest scorer in the club's history in the competition, behind only Mujica (28).
Cristo joined Arouca last season from Italian side Udinese and formed a lethal attacking trio alongside Rafa Mujica and Galician Jason Remeseiro, with a total of 41 goals in the Portuguese league.
During his career, the Tenerife native also had spells with Tenerife, Real Madrid, Huesca, Mirandes, Valladolid and Sporting Gijon.
