Jose Callejon is no longer a Granada player, having terminated his contract with the club on Saturday. The 37-year-old from Motril arrived at the Andalusian club in the summer of 2022 as part of the squad that was looking to return to La Liga and finally achieved it as champions of the category.
The striker, who has played for Real Madrid and Italian club Napoli among other teams, played 42 games in which he scored 4 goals and provided 10 assists, being the top assist man in the competition.
Last season, 23/24, in the top flight, the striker made a further 25 appearances, although his performances were considerably reduced.
The two parties have now agreed not to sign for a third season, and the player is now free. Granada thanked Callejon for "his commitment and dedication", and wished him "the best of luck in his professional and personal future".
