Kylian Mbappe is not in the France squad for Les Bleus' upcoming matches, according to Didier Deschamps, because he does not want to take any risks. 'L'Equipe', however, recalls that he is in the Real Madrid squad for Villarreal. Patrice Evra believes that the coach is doing so in order not to anger the French star's club.

What about Kylian Mbappe? That's the question on France's lips after the star was left out of Deschamps' squad for the games against Israel and Belgium in the upcoming international break.
"Unsettling, isn't it?" said 'L'Equipe' on Saturday's front page, alluding to the fact that Mbappe has not made the list but is in the Real Madrid squad for the match against Villarreal.
Deschamps explained that he did not want to take any risks with Mbappe and for that reason had decided to leave him out. The aforementioned newspaper then wonders how Carlo Ancelotti could have called him up for the match at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Ex-footballer Patrice Evra went one step further and, on Rothen's programme on 'RMC Sport', pointed the finger directly at the coach: "Deschamps is protecting him, let's be clear! Mbappe no longer plays for PSG, he plays for Real Madrid."
For Evra, the mistake has been made with Mbappe of giving him a status he doesn't deserve. "Why do people only talk about him? It was us who created the legend because he won a World Cup, but for me, Mbappe doesn't come close to Benzema, with all the respect I have for him," he added.
"The France armband he would never have worn. The kid has been given everything, so how can we expect him to be motivated afterwards?"
