The French National Union of Professional Footballers (UNFP) released a statement after Paris Saint-Germain sidelined Kylian Mbappe, and claimed the action was "moral harassment", as the club are looking to pressure the player into renewing with them.

The UNFP came out on Saturday in support of Kylian Mbappe, after the Frenchman was left out of PSG's pre-season tour in Asia, as a way of as a measure of force after he refused to renew. The Union recalled that pressuring a player to extend his commitment to a club is considered "moral bullying".
"It is not superfluous to remind managers that putting pressure on an employee - by degrading his working conditions, for example - to force him to leave or to accept what the employer wants, constitutes bullying," the union warned in a statement, recalling a ruling by the Reims Court of Appeal in 2020.
"All players must benefit from the same working conditions as the rest of the professional personnel," added the union, which recalled the case of other PSG players in a similar situation to Mbappe, including Leandro Paredes, Georginio Wijnaldum or Keylor Navas.
The 2018 World Cup winner is between a rock and a hard place after PSG decided, against all odds, that he would not travel on the Asian tour in order to include him in the group of those ruled out to stay at the Paris sports complex.
By leaving him out of the trip to Japan and South Korea, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has increased the pressure on Mbappe, who has until 31 July to renew until 2025 or leave the club this summer.
The Parisian club want to avoid at all costs that their star player leaves for free in June 2024 and after having paid him the 80 million euros included in the loyalty clause for the 2023-24 season.
According to the French press, the French striker is still adamant that he will honour the remaining year of his contract (which would mean signing for free for another team in June 2024), even if PSG keep him on the sidelines.
