Conor Gallagher has spent virtually his entire professional career playing for Chelsea, with the exception of four seasons at Charlton Athletic, Swansea City, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace. He has even played for the London club's youth teams.
But his time at Stamford Bridge could come to an end this summer. La Liga side Atletico Madrid are in talks with the Blues for his services. The Spaniards have shown great interest in the midfielder.
And, in fact, the 24-year-old also seems to want to try his luck at another club as he recently turned down a three-year renewal offer from Chelsea, according to the 'Daily Mail'. The renewal would have made him one of Chelsea's highest paid midfielders but he has decided not to extend his contract.
His current contract expires in June 2025 and the Englishman wants to make it easier for Atletico to secure his services. Gallagher wants a prominent role in a European team because he has grown tired of playing second fiddle in the Premier League.
