England have now completed their preparations for Euro 2024 and the countdown to the start of the tournament in Germany has begun. The Three Lions will face Serbia in their opening match on 16 June.
Ahead of the start of the tournament, Gareth Southgate praised the depth of his squad at a press conference. "We have great squad depth, especially in attack. The squad has evolved since the World Cup and is more experienced," analysed the manager, who says he has a special care for Jude Bellingham after his brutal season at Real Madrid.
"My conversations with him were about something different," said the coach, who revealed the theme: "Bellingham is realising that his world has changed. He's a young guy who's doing very well, but his life is not that of a 20-year-old. For example, I played with people like David Beckham and his world was different. That world is now Jude's world".
Finally, he spoke of Harry Kane's progress following his departure to Bayern Munich with what sounds like a dig at Tottenham's ambitions: "For him, the experience and the adjustment to playing for a big club where you have to win every week is good. Our players have to feel it because that's our thing. Every time we draw, or even when we win and we don't play well, it's a drama. The more our players understand that, the better it is.
