Few people in the world of football can say they've turned down Saudi Arabia's money. The government is trying to make its league one of the best in the world and has decided on a policy of no expenses spared to make it happen.
Players are making the move - Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema among them - but they also need managers. One of the names on the country's list was that of former Aston Villa manager and Liverpool icon, Steven Gerrard.
However, the Englishman will not be making the move out east. He has decided to reject the offer made to him by Al-Ettifaq, and will remain for now without a team ahead of next season.
"I was invited to look at a potential offer. I went and I listened. I was debating it all over the last few days. But, as it stands now, I won't be taking that offer up", he said on 'Channel 4'.
