Gil Manzano to referee Milan-Inter clash

Wednesday's Champions League derby between Milan and Inter already has its official referee. Spanish referee Jesus Gil Manzano will be in charge of the match.

Jesus Gil Manzano has been appointed to referee this Wednesday's Milan-Inter derby, corresponding to the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals.
Gil Manzano will be assisted on the sidelines by Diego Barbero and Angel Nevado, the fourth official will be Jose Maria Sanchez Martinez and the VAR will be Juan Martinez Munuera and Alejandro Hernandez Hernandez.
The 39-year-old referee from Extremadura has already officiated six Champions League matches this season: PSV Eindhoven-Monaco (3-2), Milan-Dinamo Zagreb (3-1), Benfica-PSG (1-1), Eintracht-Marseille (2-1), Borussia Dortmund-Chelsea (1-0) and Manchester City-Bayern Munich (3-0).
He has also refereed two Europa League matches, Fenerbahce-Austria Vienna (4-1) and Feyenoord-Shakhtar Donetsk (7-1).
In addition to that match against Dinamo Zagreb, he refereed Milan in October 2020 in the second leg of the Europa League play-off against Rio Ave, which ended in a penalty shootout, and was fourth official in an Inter-Bayer Leverkusen match in August of the same year.
