With Romelu Lukaku heading to Antonio Conte's Napoli, Roma's sporting management has rushed to secure a guaranteed replacement for Daniele de Rossi's striker. Artem Dovbyk, top scorer of La Liga with Girona, is the chosen one and his signing for the Italian side should be a matter of days. Fabrizio Romano advances that the 'Giallorossi' only need the green light from Montilivi.
With the player, an agreement has already been reached for him to commit for the next five seasons. His replacement secured the qualification to the Europa League, so that the still Girona striker will decline to continue in a team that was going to offer him the possibility of playing in the Champions League to take a slight step back at European level.
In the previous year, the Belgian striker mentioned in the first paragraph of this article scored 13 goals in 32 Serie A games, while his potential replacement scored 24 in 36, a much more encouraging tally. If he adapts to the Serie A as he has done to the La Liga, he could be a most interesting boost in order for the Italian side to sneak into the fight for the top four positions of the 'Scudetto'.
It has not yet come to light how much money Roma will pay for Dovbyk, but it is known that Atletico Madrid was also interested in him. Furthermore, his starting price is €37.1 million. He cost 7.75 from Dnipro-1 in the summer of 2023 and signed until June 30, 2028 with Girona, so he will hardly change colors without an income that will satisfy the Catalan side coffers.
