Giroud could miss World Cup final with knee problems

Olivier Giroud has knee problems and he could be out of the World Cup final in Qatar. Another less dramatic scenario, and more likely, is for Didier Deschamps to put him on the bench. According to 'L'Equipe de Greg', the striker was not in the first test XI the French national team used on Saturday because he is not 100%.
If his absence is confirmed, it would be very bad news for France. After Karim Benzema's absence due to injury or because of a bad relationship of Deschamps, the team would be without their main man up front. However, they would still have key men like Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann.
If the AC Milan player has to start the game on the bench, Marcus Thuram will replace him. Newspaper 'L'Equipe' says that he is player most likely to form part of the front three with Mbappe and Ousmane Dembele. Griezmann, Tchouameni and Rabiot were in midfield, Kounde, Upamecano, Konate and Theo Hernandez in defence and Lloris in goal.
"The hypothesis of seeing the AC Milan striker start on the bench exists," the newspaper says. Less than 24 hours before the clash with Argentina, it is difficult to make out which is the more likely option.
