As Arsenal looked to take revenge on Manchester City after last season, they faced strong opposition, and it was the Sky Blues who finally broke the deadlock. Substitute Cole Palmer sent a curling strike that beat Aaron Ramsdale to the top left corner.

It was always going to be a tense fixture, with the Gunners looking for revenge after finishing five points behind Pep Guardiola's men despite holding an eight-point lead in April.
Unfortunately for the Gunners, who had some good chances wasted, their sloppiness was punished. Cole Palmer came on for Erling Haaland in the second half, and the young substitute made his moment count.
Taking the ball just inside the area, Palmer sent a curling strike that gave Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale no chance, whistling into the top left corner.
City took the lead in the 77th minute, leaving Arsenal less than 15 minutes to come up with a response. It remains to be seen if they can muster anything to even remotely trouble City keeper Ortega.
