Joe Gomez was present for Liverpool's training session on Tuesday after spending a month on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury. The English centre-back sustained the setback in the trip to West Ham on December 29 as he was forced off in the first half of the Premier League game.
His injury meant that Ibrahima Konate was able to reclaim his starting position in Arne Slot's lineup, with 21-year-old Jarell Quansah also seeing more minutes on the pitch to allow the Frenchman to rest amid a busy schedule for the Premier League and Champions League leaders.
The Reds' upcoming fixture sees them taking on PSV in the final round of the Champions League league phase on Wednesday. But Gomez will not be able to join his side for the trip to the Netherlands as it is still too early for him to get back to action. A return in early February is in the cards for the player.
Liverpool have already secured their ticket to the round of 16 following their 2-1 win over Lille on matchday seven of the tournament. Sitting three points above second-placed Barcelona, a draw at the Philips Stadion against the Eredivisie side would be enough to ensure first place.
