France midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni spoke on Friday about Antoine Griezmann's two misses in front of goal against the Netherlands, declaring that "the best players in the world" also make mistakes when they have chances to score.
The Real Madrid player defended his team-mate, who failed to score France's winning goal despite having two clear-cut chances, one in each half: "The best players in the world also miss chances. If you ask Griezmann, he would have preferred to score those chances. But at the end of the day, he did very well," he explained.
Tchouameni said France did "everything they could" to win the game and pointed out that they had enough chances to take all three points and qualify for the last 16: "There are still things we need to improve. We will go from less to more to get what we want and do everything we can to win the next game, which will be very important," he said.
"We're not satisfied either, we've drawn, but we have to be better in the last movement and in the penultimate pass," he concluded.
