After their Premier League win against Leicester City, Pep Guardiola spoke to the press and was asked about Erling Haaland once more, who scored a brace but was subbed off at half-time.
With that in mind, the Catalan boss revealed why he decided to do that, and explained that they've got to look after the Norwegian striker in a different way.
"I want Haaland to break all the records possible. That means that he'll score a lot of goals and it'll help us. But I think what he wants is to win titles and to be up there", the Spanish boss said.
He then went on to admit that he'll help the Norwegian to achieve things never before seen in English football: "It's impressive, there's still eight or nine games left... he's already close to beating the records".
With that in mind, Guardiola revealed why he tends to take Haaland off: "We start games wanting to win them. The is never over until it's over. But, when you're 3-0 up and have control... and taking into account that Erling had come off the back of playing 90 minutes against Bayern, we've got to think about injuries".
"Here we look after him in 24 hours, we've got an impressive team of medics. We've got to have specialist doctors, because he's got a special physique and we've got to look after him. Does he take coming off badly? Absolutely not. He's got an excellent attitude, as always", Pep concluded.
