Despite missing Erling Haaland and the fact that Salah opened the scoring, Manchester City were too strong for Liverpool on Saturday on Premier League matchday 29. This win was unable to bring them any closer to leaders Arsenal, however, as Arteta's men easily saw off Leeds United.
When speaking to the press after the win, Pep Guardiola was very proud of his players, who put in a stellar performance. "From the first to the last minute, it was a perfect performance. When we let the goal in, we were playing very well. Of course, they're always a threat in the transitions, but we played very well in every sense", the Catalan manager said.
According to him, it was one of the Cityzens' best performances since he arrived in 2016.
"It was one of our best performances in the last seven years. The players knew they weren't playing bad when we went 0-1 down. We adjusted our tactics a bit at half-time. Of course, we have the chance to score the second goal, but the match was dominated for 93 minutes".
