Ilkay Gundogan's future is "open" according to his agent and uncle Ilhan. The midfielder's representative denies having found a club for the 2023-24 season. At United, in the mean time, they're praying he'll be on his way to Barcelona, as then they'll have a chance of getting Frenkie de Jong.

Ilkay Gundogan's agent and uncle, Ilhan Gundogan claimed that the footballer has still not decided what he'll do next season. He highlighted that his future was "open" with the rumours linking him with Barcelona for next season in mind.
The German footballer ends his contract with City this summer, after seven years with the English side where he's won four Premier Leagues, four League Cups and one FA Cup.
However, at 32 years old, Gundogan has been linked with Barcelona, the club who he's supposedly already got a pre-agreement already signed to join the Catalan side this summer and when they overcome their financial problems.
"There's no deal with any club", Gundogan's agent said to 'The Guardian'. "Ilkay is focused on City and on his son's birth. Now he's in the final and crucial part of the season and that's the only thing that's important. Where he's playing next season is still open", he maintained.
Since arriving from Borussia Dortmund, Gundogan has become one of the pillars of Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. He's played 290 games, scoring 53 and he's been wearing the captain's armband this season.
Manchester United are keeping tabs on this decision, as they're crossing their fingers that Gundogan goes to the Camp Nou. The reason being because they think that if Barca get this midfielder, the Spanish giants may open the door to a possible transfer for Frenkie de Jong, who's been on their list for a while.
