Manchester City's Argentine striker Julian Alvarez spoke about his secondary role in the team coached by Pep Guardiola. The former River Plate player referred to the figure of Erling Haaland and made it clear that he is used to having to earn his place, something he did in his native country.

Manchester City striker Julian Alvarez said it is a privilege to play alongside Erling Haaland and stressed that he can learn a lot from the Norwegian attacker.
"It's a privilege," Alvarez said at a press conference. "It's always great to be alongside the best in the world. We are the same age, but we can learn a lot of things from each other. We both want the best for the team," he said.
The Argentine is expected to start against Sevilla on Wednesday in City's group-stage clash. Alvarez has not had much playing time this season, but he knows his chance will come: "You have to accept it. I don't have a lot of experience in many teams either. At River there were times when I didn't play much. In the national team I'm not always a starter. I try to train hard and be ready.
On Haaland, who will miss Wednesday's game due to injury, Álvarez added that their styles are different, but that they can adapt: "I like to play in different positions. At River I already played alongside other strikers and I'm used to these situations. I have confidence in my quality and the rest of the players also have faith in me.
