Leganes' new signing Sebastien Haller wanted to be cautious on Monday at his presentation with Leganes. He did not set himself a ‘goal target’ for the season because the main thing for him is to ‘play, feel important and get back to basics’.
"I am very happy to be here. I am grateful to the club for the opportunity they have given me to play and for the confidence they have shown in me. I need to play, to be in an environment where I can be myself, something that wasn't possible in the past few months."
"Leganes is a big family and it's not bad to go back to basics, to the simple things", were his first declarations at his official presentation. And he didn't close the door to staying longer: "Why not? Anything can happen. I would be the first to be happy if certain conditions are met. We'll see."
The Ivorian striker was set to replace Norwegian Erling Haaland at Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund in 2022. However, testicular cancer broke the continuity of his career. "I don't have a goal target, no target number. The most important thing for me is to play and feel important, to be fit. I need to score as many goals as possible with the chances created, there are no numbers, just to get in the best shape and be useful. Hopefully, it can be 50, but I'm not setting myself a figure," he said.
