Heintinga, Schreuder's interim replacement at Ajax

Ex-Atletico and Netherlands player John Heitinga will be Schreuder's replacement, who was sacked on Thursday after not beating Volendam. The new manager will be there on an interim basis.

After drawing against FC Volendam, the Ajax board took the decision to relieve Alfred Schreuder from his coaching post. The Amsterdam side are fifith in the Eredivisie and are struggling to get results on the pitch.
The club themselves announced the replacement, at least for now, will be John Heintinga, ex-Atletico and Netherlands player.
"Ajax's training this Friday was led by Heitinga", the club announced. Additionally, in the videos posted by the Dutch club, you can see the new coach very concentrted and motivated.
At 39 years of age, the ex-Netherlands players was coaching in the club's youth ranks. Schreuder's sacking sped up his path to the top. Everything points towards his debut being on the 29th January against Excelsior.
