The UEFA draw for the group stage of the 2023/24 Europa League was held on Friday at the Grimaldi Forum in Monaco, where 32 teams will face each other in groups of four as usual. Real Betis and Villarreal are the Spanish clubs who will be looking to pick up the baton from Sevilla, champions of the last edition for the 7th time in their history.
A particularly competitive edition is expected, with Champions League regulars such as Liverpool, Ajax and Jose Mourinho's Roma, last season's finalists and reinforced by Romelu Lukaku. Bayer Leverkusen, Atalanta, West Ham, Sporting CP, Olympique Marseille and Brighton are other top-level clubs hoping to win the second European title.
Although fixtures and times have yet to be confirmed (they will be known by Saturday morning at the latest), the schedule for this edition of the UEFA Europa League is already set. Matchday 1 of the group stage kicks off on 21st September and ends on 14th December. The knockout rounds draw will take place on 18th December and the ties will begin on 15th February 2024.
