Hoffenheim-RB Leipzig will kick off the 32nd Bundesliga matchday. A match that will be crucial for Pellegrino Matarazzo's side, as a win would put them in European qualification places. However, this fact does not hide a devastating fact in the league: only the bottom team concedes more goals than them.

The Bundesliga 2023/24 is coming to an end and there are only three rounds left to play. Although the champions, Bayer Leverkusen, are already known, there are still a number of things to be decided, including the European qualification places.
The Champions League spots have already been decided, with Germany having secured an extra place, meaning that the fifth-placed team will mathematically qualify for the Champions League. However, the fight for Europa League and the Conference League is more alive than ever. Hoffenheim, who sit 6th and 1 point behind respectively, have a chance of reaching both competitions.
However, this fact does not hide a poor statistic for Pellegrino Matarazzo's side. The team is the second team in the entire Bundesliga with the most goals conceded, with a total of 63. They are only surpassed by Darmstadt, who, curiously, are bottom of the division.
All of them have been conceded by their goalkeeper and captain Oliver Baumann in 31 games so far, which means an average of more than two goals conceded per game. Only Darmstadt's goalkeeper is obviously ahead of him, but he is far ahead of everyone else in the battle for Europe.
By way of consolation, Baumann is a mainstay in his coach's schemes, starting every Bundesliga game. He is also the goalkeeper who has saved the most penalties in the whole season (3).
