It was a quiet first at the Doosan Arena as Viktoria Plzen put up an even display against the Red Devils. United thought they had the situation under control until a shocking error in defence gave the hosts the lead. Onana's pass to Dalot caught the Portuguese off guard as Sulc took advantage of the pair's miscommunication to serve Vydra, who had an empty net in front of him. But Rasmus Hojlund's entrance from the bench changed everything for Amorim's side. The Danish striker found the equaliser just past the hour mark as he touched Amad's shot in the back of the net. With two minutes plus added time left, Hojlund struck the winner when Bruno Fernandes opted for a short free-kick straight to the 22-year-old, who unmarked himself to score past Jedlicka and hand Man United back-to-back wins in the Europa League.
