Pau Cubarsi already has his mind set on the Olympic Games. In statements released by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Tuesday, the surprising centre-back spoke about how he is facing this challenge: "I feel calm, I try to be myself and not deviate from what I really am, my family helps me a lot with that. I approach it as I always do, as if I were just another youth player working to improve every day and try to achieve a challenge like the Games, which would be impressive".
"It has been a very good season. Now we face the Olympic Games, one of the biggest challenges a footballer can have, and we approach it with a lot of enthusiasm and hard work," he added.
Pau Cubarsi explained how he is adapting to the group: "There are some younger players and others who are more experienced, we are a good group, a good family and everyone is helping me a lot".
Spain will make their Olympic Games debut against Uzbekistan on 24th July at 15:00 CEST (-2 GMT). "We're really looking forward to it, I'm the most excited. We're really looking forward to the first game," he said.
